Modeling Analytics Engineer
The Modeling Analytics Engineer provides data analytics and modeling solutions for Qbase initiatives. The MAE will contribute expertise and provide practical applications in statistical analysis and modeling techniques as Qbase develops solutions unique to our value proposition. Qbase expects the MAE to be active in brainstorming solutions as well as in the design and coding of those solutions. As a key Qbase analytics team member, the MAE will participate in a variety of customer interactions, work with raw data, perform ETL functions, use various analytical tools while producing useful work product. The MAE will grow and advance Qbase’s expertise in data analytics and modeling, often leading or co-leading as we undertake complex challenges in aggregating multiple, diverse datasets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Expertise in development and application of predictive modeling solutionsExpertise in validation and verification required Skilled in benchmarking and developing computer models of complex systemsC++, C#, ASP.Net, Relational Database (Oracle, SQL, MySQL), Visual Studio .NET coding skills, XML, Operating Systems (Windows 200X/NT)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Must be a team player with strong collaboration, presentation and documentation skills· Working knowledge of Microsoft Development environment and tools· Discrete event simulation, preferred · Experience with OTS tools in the data mining and / or data modeling space (e.g., SAS, SPSS, KXEN, etc.)· Algorithm development experience· Practical experience in development and application of rule-based and knowledge-based decision support systems
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
M.S., Computer Science, Applied or Theoretical Statistics, requiredPh.D., Applied or Theoretical Statistics desired1-3 years experience using back-end databases such as SQL or Oracle in solutions for production applications5+ years experience in design and development of rule-based, knowledge-based or statistical based decision support systemsExperience with OTS BI data analytics platforms (Microstrategy, SSIS, etc.), desired

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interpret raw analytics into understandable and actionable findings for Qbase clientsUse data mining and analysis techniques, including segmentation, clustering, scoring, and modeling
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Ability to interpret and convey the value of Qbase analytic services and productsDemonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyStrong verbal and written communication skills
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
4-year college degree in applied math or computer science with a concentration in mathematics1+ years experience with ETL process and tools (SSIS a plus)Experience with SPSS or SASExperience with MS-SQL or other relational databasesExperience with MS Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access
