We are currently looking for a Mid - Level Java developer for a client in the LA area. The job details are as below:Software engineer- 3 month contract to hire
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform systems analysis and develop software for media applications supporting digital video workflows and data management
· Work with customers, engineering teams, vendors, and other resources to analyze functional and technical requirements to support digital video workflow automation and post-processing services
· Develop prototypes that solve digital video workflow automation needs using standard tools and codecs as required.
· Develop tools to extract, transcode and recombine multimedia files.
· Document digital media workflows and data management through uses cases, requirement specifications, and other written documentation.
· Code client/server and video applications in C/C++ and Java.
· Create automated unit test cases and test data.
· Test and debug code. Participate in code walkthroughs as needed to ensure quality.
· Deliver software on time and to specification, with minimal supervision.
· Work with external vendors to use SDKs and toolkits to solve corporate video processing needs.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements.Really strong w/ core Java A little C++ (not someone in the aerospace industry) Senior-level (minimum 5 years) Limited supervision...need to be able to run with stuff w/o a lot of definition Experience with multiple tiers of Web apps (front, middle, back) Solid understanding of and experience with MVC architecture Could build a simple Swing app (sometimes build pure Java apps with no Web components) Could come in and build a Web app from scratch Doesn't need to be massive, multi-tiered app (small # of users) Can build simple Web apps (JSF) Stay with them long-term Need to be able to develop UI!!! Design/architecture experience - will need to own design Experience using Gang of Four design patterns Hibernate/Spring/some EJB
