We are currently seeking a highly-motivated, self starter to join our San Jose based engineering team, as a hands-on Systems Engineering Manager to organize the team and work in a team oriented, exciting, fun and challenging work environment

If you are a highly-motivated, self starter, then we want to talk to you. We are currently seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to lead our systems engineering development group. The ideal candidate will manage and coordinate the efforts of our highly skilled developers as they work on the distributed server components of the ActiveVideo Networks infrastructure. We are looking for an individual that not only enjoys managing their team, but a person who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to help out with development tasks if/when needed. We are looking for a thrill seeker who is comfortable with rapidly changing priorities of cutting edge technology and the constantly changing landscape of the ETV industry. We are looking for someone who is capable of challenging the team to constantly improve the product and our processes as we grow our Company.

 

Required Skills:

 Demonstrated track record of developing and delivering software applicationsPrevious management experience of small development teamsStrong C and C++ development skillsSolid understanding of development processes and principlesAbility to work independently and in small collaborative teamsExcellent Verbal and Written communication skillsUnderstanding of IP networkingExperience in developing Web Service applicationsA minimum 3 years management experienceAt least 5 years development experience in developing distributed software applications

 

Additional Skills:

 Understanding of MPEGExperience in Cable or IPTV systems and infrastructureUnderstanding of Cable standards and protocols (DSM-CC)Experience with Content Delivery Networks
