About the Job Candidate will be required to both develop and care for Akamai customers. Most of the work effort is local, but some travel is required. Knowledgeable understanding of the internet and how Akamai plays in that space is required. Responsibilities Major Account Executives are responsible for the strategic objective of maximizing revenue generation within very large public sector accounts. Given the importance of penetrating the top-tier accounts, these individuals will be assigned to a select number of prospects and existing clients with the purpose of cold calling, prospect qualification, strategic sales process planning, exploring and closing all revenue opportunities. Basic Qualifications * Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Computer Science * Overall Experience: 5-7 years or equivalent experience * 5 or more years in system / solution sales within large Enterprise accounts. * Consistently exceeding quota of greater than $3 Million. * Proven Track Record in over-achieving quarterly and annual quota. * Must have high ethics, integrity, and humility and have a desire to build world-class sales and support organization. * Must have strong knowledge of Internet and telecommunications concepts and demonstrate the ability to discuss them with intelligence and conviction. * Experience in successfully executing complex sales cycles with CXOs. * Formal sales training a must: Solution-Selling and/or Value Selling training preferred. * Ideal candidates will bring with them a range of Internet industry-related contacts. * Strong background in Internet infrastructure and/or enterprise solution software required. * Strong background in Web based applications a plus. * Prior experience selling to government and or Public Sector * BA/BS Degree Desired Qualifications * Precious experinece seeling DISA & DOD * Track record that demonstartes successful account penetration and management etc. Other Information * Is relocation available for this position: No * Is US Citizenship required: Yes * Is a Security Clearance Required: Yes If yes, applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation & must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
