As a member of the Bayer Information Technology team you will be a key contributor in the development and ongoing maintenance of the Bayer Crop Science TimeToWeb CMS (Content Management System). The TimeToWeb CMS is a Lotus Notes based application.The incumbent will: - Support the Web Communications Team, which is responsible for providing content solutions, application development and educational support for intranet, extranet and public web technologies in the CMS web environment; - Support the Bayer Crop Science Internet Coordination activities of the Web Communications Team, by meeting regularly with internal customers to gather requirements as well as external agencies to integrate solutions. - Support the development and continuous improvement of the site structure, content workflows, and site usability; - Develop and maintain CMS features utilizing mainly Lotus Notes / Lotus Domino, JavaScript, and HTML. - Incorporate and migrate legacy systems and technologies into the TimeToWeb environment where appropriate, and develop and maintain customized content management applications and tools; - Manage the web development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to implementation on various projects; - Work with selected customers and serve as technical liaison during project implementation, and ensure that the appropriate technical solution is applied to meet customers’ needs; - Respond to operational and user problems; - Help develop web-based reporting tools for Web Communications, execute U. S. Web Monitoring Strategy and Reporting, and monitor web sites for acceptable performance and user accessibility.QualificationsThe selected candidate will possess: - Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field plus three years current Information Technology experience, OR Master’s degree in Information Technology or related field with one year current Information Technology experience, OR five years current Information Technology experience; - Minimum of three to five years current development experience with Lotus Notes / Lotus Domino web, Lotus Script and formula language, JavaScript and HTML OR minimum of three to five years current experience in web software development including development using three or more of the following: XML, CSS, AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML), Adobe Action Script, RSS, Adobe Flash development, .NET technologies; - High energy level with the ability to multi-task effectively and in an organized fashion; - Presentation/communication skills – professional presence and ability to confidently interface with broad range of customers and technical colleagues; - Strong customer service focus with proven track record of accomplishments; - Excellent communication skills, both technical written and verbal, to articulate concepts and ideas related to assigned projects and customer support, and have the ability to work effectively with a variety of people at all levels; - Self-motivated with high degree of initiative and excellent follow up skills, along with strong analytical and problem solving skills; - Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work in cross-functional teams, global teams as well as independently.
