Linux Systems Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled, energetic individual to join ATG’s operations team. The person in this role will be part of a group responsible for ATG’s growing OnDemand infrastructure as well as portions of our corporate infrastructure.
This position requires a broad technical background with expertise in several key areas. You should have significant experience managing complex technical projects. VoIP and SIP experience is a big plus.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in maintaining operations for ATG’s OnDemand infrastructure
• Assist in the creation and continual improvement of operational processes
• Contribute systems documentation and maintain operational run book
• Create tools and process automation
• Fault detection and resolution, configuration management, change management and performance management
• Administer systems, applications, backups, monitoring and recovery processes, patches, updates and server utilities
• 9am - 5:30pm. Participation in a moderate on call rotation.
Qualifications:
• Strong skills in troubleshooting and monitoring system processes, memory, and load.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience managing complex technical projects
• 5+ years experience in a large production environment (200+ machines).
• Expert Linux skills (Red Hat/CentOS, Apache 2.0); strong Windows skills (Windows 2003, IIS 6.0, Active Directory)
• Excellent IP networking fundamentals
• Expertise in many of the following technologies and protocols: SIP, RTP, TCP, UDP, DNS, NTP, 802.11, OSPF, BGP, DHCP, LDAP, HTTP, ISDN, T1/E1, Ethernet, firewalls
• SIP experience a strong plus
• Cisco IOS experience a plus (Switch, PIX, VLAN)
• Scripting skills in Perl, Python, VB
Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor's (Computer Science or Analytical Discipline preferred)
• Vendor Certifications: Linux, MCSE (2000 or 2003), IIS, Apache, CCNA and/or CCNP, Security or Storage
