Summary:
The primary objective of this position is to monitor and maintain CQG’s production and testing Ticker Plant and Server Farm environments.
Responsibilities:
· Build Linux systems
· Load proprietary code onto Linux systems that will be responsible for parsing exchange data
· Monitor systems using an in house developed web based (Apache) application
· Monitor existing exchange connectivity for reliability and fault tolerance
· Perform testing of backup exchange connectivity
· Deploy new system releases and upgrades to production
· Evaluate and install patches
· Resolve software related problems
· Perform system backups and recovery
· Maintain data files
· Monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity
Education and Experience:
· Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, experience, and skills
· A minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Strong experience with LINUX (CentOS) is requiredAn understanding of various Windows Server platformsKnowledge of Telecommunications, including managing circuits and exchange connectionsUnderstanding of routing concepts, including multi-castExperience designing and improving communications roomsUnderstanding of financial markets is preferred
