Learning Technology Manager (Temporary)

We are currently seeking a temporary Learning Technology Manager to work with us on a client engagement.

 

Position Overview :

 

Manage the implementation of our client’s learning technology strategy, including management an online learning platform. Our client’s learning management system is Peoplesoft ELM 8.8. Collaborate with National Talent and Development team, HRIS partners, and IT for alignment of learning initiatives with strategy, recommending appropriate technology based learning solutions. Manage learning technology projects from planning to completion. Manage functional enhancements and functional support for. Responsible for national learning metrics reporting and enhancements to the reporting capability of the Learning Management System. Manage enhancements and tier 2 functional support. Manage team of learning management system business analyst and learning administrators.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

· Manage the national administration of online learning platform

· Develop and enhance functionality to include the integration of distance learning methodologies including web conferencing

· Partner with IT on technical/platform functionality development

· Manage integrated e-learning course development including gaming, interactivity, and other web-based delivery methods.

· Maintain useful external relationships and stay abreast of current and emerging trends in learning technologies

· Identify emerging learning technologies to reduce cost of training, while increasing effectiveness

· Manage enhancements to learning systems.

· Manage tier 2 functional support for learning systems

· Monitor and report on effectiveness and use of learning and distance learning technologies

 

QUALIFICATIONS & CORE COMPETENCIES:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

 

¨ Four-year college degree in Instructional Design or other related field or related experience, advanced degree in Educational Technologies desired.

¨ Three - five years demonstrated management experience within the training/corporate education field

¨ Three years experience in design, development, implementation and management  of an online corporate university

¨ Experience in learning management system implementations and integration with other applications

¨ 5 years project management, business analysis or software implementation experience desired.

¨ 3 years experience in functional support for learning management system.

¨ Experience with the PeopleSoft Learning Management application strongly desired

¨ Experience with integration with Peoplesoft LMS desired

¨ Expert use of learning systems.

¨ Expert use of desktop applications and computing tools, advanced reporting and query tools.

¨ Experience teaching learning systems

¨ Data based management decision making

¨ Six Sigma green belt training desired

¨ Process management experience

¨ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate and effectively communicate at all levels

¨ Demonstrated ability to design and present material using multi-media applications

¨ Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, delegate, and execute

¨ Strong critical thinking skills and analytical skills

¨ Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions

¨ Ability to manage processes for support and enhancements of learning systems

 

OTHER COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:

· Able to travel by land or air

· Able to travel approximately 30%
