Lead VB Developer

Direct Tech, Inc. the leading developer of software that improves merchandising and inventory management for organizations that market through e-commerce, catalog, and retail sales channels, is looking for individuals to assist in support and development of their enterprise forecasting application.  Candidates will be able to communicate well with clients in person and in writing.  The ideal candidate will be a quick-learner, self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks at once.  Experience is required in .NET development for both ASP and VB.   The candidate will lead a group of developers and provide direction.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES  Lead and mentor a team of developers.  Implement best practices for coding in .NET environment. Assist with decisions on direction of product and controls to utilize for development. Support for client software.  Involves connecting to remote systems and troubleshooting issues that arise. Work with customers to solve problems. New product development – code new processes based on specifications.  Meet with management to determine direction of enhancements. New Product Installs – installation/rollout of application and new releases. Administration – update project work plans, status reports and time sheets.

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE  Implementation of .NET applications. Rollout of software patches to customer organizations. Ability to read/write simple SQL statements. Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Supervisory experience is a plus. Prior experience with Salesforce CRM case management. Strong problem solving skills and ability to perform multiple tasks. Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills; work well within a team environment. Possess and demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills, maintain a professional and positive customer service orientation. Proficiency at an intermediate level in computer skills with MS Office Products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1.    Bachelor’s Degree required.

2.    8+ years development/programming experience.

3.    4+ years .NET programming experience in both ASP and VB.

4.    2+ years .NET 2005 experience.

5.    Oracle experience a plus

6.    Microsoft Certification a plus
