Lead TDM & Packet Software Engineer

We are currently seeking a Lead TDM & Packet Fabric Software Engineer in our Acton location.POSITION SUMMARY  Hands-on Transport and Ethernet networking professional to work in a team environment to design and develop Ciena’s next generation of Ethernet applications based upon Metro Ethernet Forum, IEEE, and ITU standards.  The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for understanding the Ciena TDM & Packet Switching architectures and provide software design & development, software maintenance and triaging for issues during releases and at customer sitesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSKILLS Excellent understanding of software development Software Development & Debugging in a complex hardware-software system General Software Development in C++/C: 4-7 years Ability to work efficiently in multi-sited development group. Required Layer 1/Layer 2 Fabric: Excellent understanding of hardware and modern highly dense and complex ASICs & FPGAs. Linux Drivers: proven experience in design & development of at least two major drivers for a system based on Linux or similar OS.
