Lead/Senior QA Engineer

Our Products Group is seeking Lead/Senior Test Engineers, to join in the development of our next generation platform and web application.


Artesia DAM, our product for digital asset mgmt, is an enterprise class product used by world renowned companies like General Motors, The Discovery Channel, DreamWorks SKG, and Electronic Arts. In the public sector, The US Departments of Defense, Education and State as well as universities like Stanford are all Artesia Customers. Purpose of Position:


As a Lead QA engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of test engineers in completing formal QA test processes for our enterprise digital asset management application. You will lead a team of test engineers in performing requirements analysis, test plan documentation, test case documentation, automated testing development and test case execution. This is a hands-on position.


Responsibilities will include:


• Lead a team of onsite and/or offshore test engineers on testing projects.
• Lead a team of QA engineers to develop and execute plans for the test case design, test topology design, test tools and scripts development, task scheduling, test execution, test automation, problem analysis, reporting and documentation.
• Review Product Requirements Document, SW Functional and Design Specifications, and other relevant documentations to extract test requirements and provide input to test design.
• Report on project status to the QA Manager. Advise management on the overall test and quality status on the assigned project.
• Help the test department expand test technology by keeping abreast with the latest developments.
• Help the department retain this knowledge through systematic update and archival of relevant documentation and equipment.


Qualifications:


The ideal candidate will have a BS in Computer Science or equivalent, and will have at least 5 years of QA experience (which includes lead experience) with commercial web based software products.


The following experience is required:


• QA team lead including the definition of project plans
• Working with offshore (remote) testing teams
• Understand test engineering and methodology including test plan development for complex projects
• Test automation tools (ideally QTP; Winrunner and Silk experience also accepted)
• Windows & Unix server environments
• SQL Server and Oracle databases
• Web-Applications and/or 3-tier software concepts
• Knowledge of general programming techniques
• Highly motivated, flexible, self starter who can work with minimal leadership and guidance
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A good team player that can be effective in a team environment


The following experience is a definite plus:


• Experience with the following technologies: J2EE, EJB, JSP, XML, JavaScript, JSP, Struts, JSTL, WebDAV, SOAP
• Experience with JBoss, BEA WebLogic or Websphere
• Experience building automated unit tests using Java and JUnit
• Performance and Scalability testing
• Video technologies: Windows Media, QuickTime and/or MXF, streaming media servers, non-linear editing software, broadcast servers, hardware and/or software encoding solutions
• Experience working with video formats and technologies
• Experience with publishing tools on a Mac including InDesign, Illustrator, Quark
