Lead Software Engineer, (Mobile Platforms)




Scope




We are seeking a Lead Embedded Software Engineer to join our Mobile Platforms team. You will be responsible for assuming a leadership role within the organization and be expected to contribute to all aspects of the software development life cycle. You will join an established, growing team of engineers and be responsible for serving as both a technical lead and mentor to other engineers. This position is responsible for working as a functional lead for key features and technology elements within the platform. This position is expected to provide technical leadership across multiple projects and be a part of the overall Platform Software technical leadership. The ideal candidate has 10 years experience in embedded software with a proven ability to take ownership of significant portions of system development and be able to deliver on time, to specification and within budget.




Responsibilities


 Perform technical feasibility studies Participate in requirements generation and elaboration Author white papers and design documents Analyze hardware component documentation and industry technical specifications, and build software architectures to support their use Develop production and unit test code Review designs and code of other engineers Integrate and debug 3rd party software Work closely with the HW Engineering group on design and technical issues Evaluate potential suppliers and vendors Report project technical progress, issues and risks to management

Qualifications


BS in EE, CS or related discipline, MS preferred10 years of software development experience with at least 5 years in C/C++ 5 years as a lead engineer Experience with embedded SOC processors, especially XScale and ARM core based processorsWriting/debugging driver software, especially Audio, Wi-Fi, USB, SDIO, Bluetooth, NAND FlashEmbedded Operating Systems, especially custom Windows CE builds using Platform Builder
