Lab Administrator

Description:Job Summary:As an Information Systems Engineer you are part of a team that is responsible for design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of automation programs and systems in support of NetApp University global training labs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and address the technical requirements of various labs to develop and implement repeatable automated learning labs.Essential Functions: The training lab group is part of NetApp University and is responsible for a wide range of applications technical expertise. As a part of a team, you will help to ensure that team objectives and project deadlines are met. The essential functions of the team include:- Plan, design, implement, and lead automation projects and process.- Analyze, test, and debug training lab materials, applications and scripts.- Develop and maintain systems level software and utilities for both existing and new systems.- Write, maintain and implement automation system and tools- Rapid problem diagnosis and resolution.- Ensure client satisfaction and client management.- Reporting to customers and management on status, resources needs, and projected outcomes.- Project management.Education & Experience:- A minimum of 5 years of experience is required; 6-10 years preferred.- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.Qualifications:Requirements:- Excellent oral and written communication skills.- Strong scripting in Microsoft tools, Unix/Linux, BASH, Expect etc.- Application experience, Altiris, VMware enterprise technologies - Ability to work collaboratively with other team members to support deadlines; ability to work independently as well.Experience with SAN FC & iSCSI, NFS. - Network Appliance hardware and software experience.- Excellent aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them.- Creative approach to problem solving.- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines.Responsibility and Interaction:Responsibility: - The tasks this individual is responsible are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches.- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation. - Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions.Interaction: This individual must work effectively with Staff to Director level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties. Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive results and set priorities independently.
