We are looking for recent graduates, who will work directly with SeniorDevelopment staff to create applications components and services to introducenew capabilities and services for our customers. As a member of the team, youwill have the chance to work on unique and innovative solutions on a highlyscalable web service platform. This position is responsible for working on thedevelopment and design, using new technologies and concepts to quickly deliverfunctionality for our customers. The online channel is a key focus area for thecompany and is growing at an aggressive rate, creating an exciting workplaceand utilizing your skills to their potential.

 

Essential Functions:

- Develop and deliver quality applications on-time and on-budget andexecution against project plans and delivery commitments. Solutions developedby the team are using Java, XML, HTTP, SOAP, AJAX and other web technologies.

- Analysis of business requirements and subsequent creation of highlevel technical design documents and technical specifications, in accordancewith company architecture standards.

- Development of application code, as necessary, using Java,Eclipse, and Tomcat.

- Unit and system testing of application code, as well as executionof implementation activities.

- Analysis and identification of technical areas of improvementwithin existing web applications.

- Work with other internal IT staff to complete project activities,such as Infrastructure, Architecture and Database improvements.

- Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changingtechnology, always on a look out for new technologies and work with managementand development team in bringing new technologies.

Knowledge,skills and attitude:

- Passion for the customer,

- Bachelors degree - preferably in computer science - or equivalentexperience,

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,

- Experience in developing web technologies is a plus,

- Results oriented person with a delivery focus - especially in theareas of writing high-performance, reliable and maintainable code,

- Ability to adapt to new development environments, changingbusiness requirements and learning new systems highly desired,

- Core competencies in Java, XML, HTTP, SOAP is highly recommended;experience with application servers such as Tomcat or JBoss is a plus,

- Understanding of web services software architectural and designissues,

- Works well in a team environment and be able to effectively drivecross-team solutions that have complex dependencies and requirements,

- Object Oriented Design and Programming, J2SE applications, tiercomponents (JDBC, Servlets, JMS, JNDI, etc.), Java/J2SE design patterns, SOAP,Web Services and stand alone Java applications,

- Understanding of software development lifecycle and methodologiesincluding code reviews and version control software such as CVS,

- Experience with E-Commerce or other order processing systems is aplus,

- Experience working in an agile methodology (for example ExtremeProgramming - XP) environment a plus,
