Java Support Engineer

Our AgitarOne technical support team is seeking a Support Engineer who is very familiar with Java, Java development technologies, and Java development practices. This person must enjoy working with Java developers to use a product that improves software quality and developer productivity. We need a person with excellent communication skills, with solid technical proficiency, and who works well in a team environment.

Responsibilities in this role will include providing customer assistance with tool usage and process questions and issues, providing company engineers with similar assistance, analyzing/researching tool usage issues, communicating with development and other teams within the company to define/obtain solutions, assisting with testing and distribution of product releases, and providing recommendations for product and documentation improvements and direction. Help our team to facilitate and advance emerging development practices.

Qualifications include:

B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or closely related discipline. 2+ years commercial software development experience in Java/C++.

The desired skill set includes:

Working knowledge of the Java language, Java development, and Java unit testing with JUnit and mock objects. Enjoys working with others. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail. Excellent problem investigation and solving skills. Familiarity with Java technologies including Eclipse extensions (Eclipse APIs, SWT, OSGI bundles/plugins, etc.), J2EE webapp technologies (Servlets, JSP, Struts), Java byte code, and JVM. Familiarity with agile development practices and trends. Linux and Windows experience.
