ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned and provide other opportunities as the company grows.
• Organize and maintain accounts payable files.
• Code and post vendor invoices into accounting system.
• Conduct monthly cash disbursement procedures.
• Process wire transfer payments.
• Review and approve for payment internal business expense reimbursement reports.
• Research and resolve accounting inquiries from, vendors and employees in Japan.
• Ensure compliance of business expense reimbursements, vendor management and payroll processes are being performed in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley documented process requirements.
• Act as one of the liaison positions in statutory payroll compliance and statutory account reporting compliance requirements in Japan.
• Reconcile the internal operations system and sales contracts to Great Plains billing system on a monthly basis to validate all customers are being invoiced accurately. Research and resolve any issues as they may arise.
• Prepares account analysis or management reporting on an as-needed or requested basis.
• Perform professional work requiring knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices (GAAP), and a good understanding and application of concepts, theories, principles, practices, terminology and applied bases of accounting.
• Ensures all requisite journal entries are processed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• Fluent in Japanese in both written and language skills.
• Experience working in Japan or a Japanese owned company preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2-5 years experience that demonstrates a solid knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices, auditing and controls, financial statements, consolidations and general ledger principles.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills – with particular emphasis on Excel. Experience with computerized accounting systems – experience with Microsoft Great Plains/Dynamics and FRX preferred.
• Must be able to demonstrate ability to document policies and procedures and implement sound business processes.
• Strong attention to detail with efficiency and excellence.
• Candidate must be able to effectively multi-task and work autonomously and proactively. Must also be able to work under very tight deadlines with a sense of urgency.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and a willingness to communicate with both internal and external contacts.
