Location: Rocky Mount, NC 27804Your location:home   »  find a job   »  advanced search   »  job description Apply Online Send this Job to a Friend Client prefers people that live in Eastern NC.  If they can't find someone local, they will pay relocation expenses (This includes packing and moving someone from their current home to Rocky Mount-Will pay for short term stay in business hotel until they get settled in home in Rocky Mount). ResponsibilitiesThe Software Engineer’s role is to develop, execute and support software programs and applications. This includes configuring, coding, developing, testing and documenting software specifications throughout the project life cycle. The Software Engineer will participate in system enhancements and implementations in a timely and accurate manner, and provide support to other departments where required. Responsibilities of Software Engineer Includes Working on MS proprietary software that they own call X++. This person will also be working on an ERP application. Their will be some web interfacing involved with this.Work will vary between new development as well as some maintenance on existing applications. This person will be using predominantly Visual Basic. Client will consider someone that has either VB, C# or C++ (Only have to have one of the three) but will be using VB mostly. This person must have good SQL Server skills. The portal they have comes embedded with Dynamic AX. Other duties include  Collaborate with analysts and designers in the development and initiation of new software applications or modifications to existing applications. Research, document, and implement program requirements and specifications. Interact with company employees and other IT staff members to resolve any defects in products or company systems. Run and monitor functional tests on new and existing software for the purposes of correcting mistakes, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging. Liaison with company’s software and hardware suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies. Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application development best practices. Assist IT staff in providing system support on an as-needed basis.MUST HAVE SKILLS2+ years of experience with Visual Basic, C++, C# and SQL Server Nice to have Competent and proficient understanding of Microsoft Dynamics ERP solutions, especially AX is a plus. Proficiency in SQL Server Reporting Services is a plus. Solid working knowledge of current Internet and portal technologies.
