JBoss Engineering Program Manager

A Red Hat Program Manager has end-to-end ownership of taking a prioritized list of work items and working with all parties to determine a schedule and content plan. Is responsible for tracking progress to that plan and making adjustments as necessary. Has the mandate to get a product out the door with an appropriate balance of quality/schedule/content. Must identify the critical path, identify risks, mitigate them, manage exceptions to the process, run interference for the product team, resolve disputes between groups, and in general do what it takes to keep the release moving. Has primary responsibility for various activities including export control and licensing, third-party products

Education/Experience: Bachelors Degree majoring in Information Technology or Computer Science and a minimum of four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret English language technical documents.

Computer Skills: Previous experience developing project plans, preferably for open-source projects. Understanding and experience with project risk assessment. Knowledge of basic Software Engineering concepts: development models, testing, and documentation.
