International Tax Manager

Job Opening Job Title:  International Tax Accountant Position Responsibilities:  1) Complete all aspects of international tax compliance, and assist in international tax planning and structuring. 2) Manage and assist in preparing forms 5471 including translation of local currency tax payments and all other E&P related requirements. 3) Manage and assist in monitoring “Passiveâ€� tests for all foreign entities, including analyzing planning techniques to resolve potential issues. 4) Manage and assist in preparing form 1118, including analysis of “basketsâ€� and analyzing planning techniques to achieve the most beneficial results to the company. 5) Assist in analysis of transfer-pricing for all cross-border transactions. 6) Assist in all other planning/structuring issues surrounding Novell’s international operations. 7) Assist in International Aspects of Accounting for Income Taxes including the following: Â·  Assist in the preparation and analysis of all quarterly income tax packages prepared by foreign subsidiaries. Â·  Assist in the preparation of incorporation of foreign tax provisions into WW provision, including analysis of valuation allowance needs, carryforward attributes and deferred taxes, and purchase price accounting affects. Â·  Assist in the preparation and analysis of all Uncertain Tax Positions with regards to the foreign jurisdictional returns and U.S. ramifications of the foreign subsidiaries. Â·  Assist in preparation and analysis of all U.S. tax issues to be recorded in the financial statements for international subsidiaries.  This includes analysis of subpart F inclusions, foreign tax credits, and foreign source income issues.  Education/Experience: 1) BS in Accounting--Masters Degree specializing in tax preferable. 2) Four to Seven years of corporate income tax experience. Experience in the following would be preferential: a) International experience in the corporate income tax department for a multi-national corporation; and/or,b) International experience serving multi-national clients for a “Big-Fourâ€� accounting firm. 3) CPA required. Specific Technical Skills: Â·  Strong communication skills are required.  This position will require an ability to effectively communicate, both in writing and verbally, with international finance personnel as well as other international business leaders.  The ability to “think-on-your-feetâ€� is a must.·  Excellent computer skills are required.  The position will require an ability to use International Compliance Software effectively in coordination with the company’s ledger/consolidation software. ·  Excellent Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing software is also a must. Novell is an equal opportunity employer and an advocate for workforce diversity.
