Infrastructure Engineer - Sr System Administrator –

The Sr. System Administrator/Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for system architecture, infrastructure design, and implementation of a large-scale SaaS infrastructure to support reliable 24x7x365 transactional SaaS applications with 99.9% availability. We are looking for a combination of a system administrator with application deployment/release background in an ASP/MSP/SaaS environment. This position is responsible for deployment, release management, support, troubleshooting, deploying the infrastructure and service application from staging to production. The Sr. System Administrator/Infrastructure Engineer will support mission-critical, 24/7 environment with other System Administrator, DBA and network engineer. This position will provide technical leadership to large-scale projects across service infrastructure such as SAN, etc., driving technical meetings to reach decisions, make operational and strategic decisions, influence the technology strategy, and executes on the tactical plan.

Job Responsibilities

· Deploy and manage mission critical service infrastructure of servers, networks, storage and service.

· Capacity planning for scalability, reliability, security, availability and serviceability to meet 99.99% availability and uptime and to support 100% business growth every year.

· Take ownership in application/service release management working with engineering during service deployment and releases

· Develop automated tools via scripts, deployment scripts, automation of release management to production

· Take leadership in technology investigations like SAN, NAS, DB, applications tools, productivity tools, and hardware and software selection.

· lead design recommendations to software and hardware to attain stability and automation

· Manage multi-site datacenter production engagement, management and capacity planning.

· Lead monitoring strategy and implementation

· Lead Technical Architecture, playing a critical role in the design, operation, implementation, and maintenance priorities in running in 24x7x365 high volume, high transactional secure environment.

· Provide 24x7x365 on-call service/application and systems operational support on rotation basis via pager, phone and email including monthly maintenance windows.

· Troubleshoot the application/service and resolve issues proactively

· Lead initiative to develop scripts and other programs for systems, applications and network

Job Requirements

· B.S. in computer science

· 5+ years of Linux/Unix systems experience in a 24x7x375 ASP/MSP/SaaS/Service provider production environment

· 5+ years of system administration experience with Application/Service production support and troubleshooting experience in a service provider production environment.

· 5+ years of systems infrastructure design/architecture experience in a 3-tier model

· 5+ yrs of experience in supporting SAN infrastructure, PostgreSQL database, information security, payment and open source technologies and tools like perl, provisioning, configuration, monitoring, apache  

· Ability to translate business requirements into efficient technology and strong technology leadership

· Ability to lead cross functional technology projects and see business and technical perspective.

· Can interact with the business and represent technology

· Ability to work in high-pressured but highly structured, customer centric service provider environment.

· Ability to multi-task multiple projects and reprioritize as needed

· Proactively escalates issues to the management and provides recommended solutions

· Excellent written and verbal communication
