Infrastructure Consultant

Our client’s IT is currently in the process of engaging an Infrastructure Consultant (VMWare Software Engineer) to assist in the build out of a LAB environment using VMware ESX 3.x in their Infrastructure Team within their Technology Services Group of the Information Technology Division.

 

High Level SOW:

• Assist in identifying appropriate hardware requirements for front-end/host servers

• Build, configure VM host servers using VMware ESX 3.x attached to a CX300 EMC SAN

• Create VM templates

• Create build documentation

• Convert existing GSX VMs to ESX

 

Experience:

• Strong background with using, troubleshooting and Supporting VMware ESX

• SAN Experience; EMC/Dell preferred.

• Experience with Dell hardware.

 

Knowledge of:

• VMware 3.x

• VMware VMotion

• VMware VirtualCenter, Infrastructure

• Active Directory 2003

• Windows 2003/2008

 

Highly Desired:

• 3+ years experience in working with VMware ESX

• Strong communication skills and ability to perform presentations

• Technology Certifications; i.e. MS, VMware, MCSE, etc

• Creating documentation/run books
