Information Operations Engineer
For over 50 years, the BBN name has been synonymous with technological innovation. Since implementing and operating the ARPANET, the forerunner of today's Internet, we have been responsible for a number of networking firsts: the first packet switch, the first router, and the first person-to-person network email. We also designed, built and operated the Defense Data Network. Today at BBN, some of the same scientists involved in those projects are working with the brilliant young graduates of the country's top technical schools to pioneer new innovations. **US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD TS Clearance are required. An active clearance is highly desirable.**BBN Technologies, long a leader in Computer Network Security, is expanding its capabilities in information assurance and operations. We are seeking an experienced engineer to join the Information Systems & Security Solutions business team located in Cambridge, MA. The ideal candidate will have skills in embedded systems, hardware and software analysis and development, testing, and integration of low-level and embedded systems. What we do:We perform research and rapid prototyping to solve some of the hardest challenges in computer and network security. Our high-quality team of researchers and developers is constantly tackling problems that are considered "too hard" for today's commercial markets. Members of our team perform all functions of the development life cycle, from brainstorming through to testing and delivery. Minimum Education:* BSEE or BSCS or other relevant field; MS or higher degree is desired.Minimum Experience:* Embedded or low-level systems development, integration, and test.* Firmware, device drivers, and OS internals.* Skills in one of the following languages: Assembly, C, C++, Java, Python. * U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance required. Current Top Secret with SSBI highly desirable.* 4 years applicable work experience, including 2 years in some of the security related disciplines described below.Additional desired experience: * Experience with networking essentials, particularly TCP/IP.* Network programming, network device integration and configuration* Reverse engineering.* Security-related disciplines, including: Vulnerability assessment; Intrusion detection; Virtual Private Networks (VPNs); Cryptography; Firewalls; and Penetration testing.* System development tools, including: version control, bug tracking, automated build, automated test. **BBN Technologies is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.** RESPOND HERE!
