We are currently seeking a qualified IT professional to support our growing team in Louisville, KY.

Analyst

You will assist in planning, coordinating and documenting design of functionality for modifications or enhancements to software products by performing the following duties personally assisting other team members.

You will also maintain functional specification documents for software products, produce Software Design Documents and communicate enhancements or modifications to Programming Group for development, assist with developing internal integration test plan and performing internal integration testing on modifications or new products, provide operations group with product and technical support, and train operations group on new products or changes to existing products.

General Responsibilities: Gathers requirements for modifications or enhancements and documents functionality. Works with customer to gain their approval of functionality.  Designs ergonomic user interface.  Evaluates system databases to make sure database information required for change is available. Develops Software Design Documents to outline Presentation Layer (including logic flow) and Data Layer (database updates).  Meets with Software Development Group to review design from a technical perspective.  Meets with developer to make sure he understands the project. Participates in product development cycle by evaluating programming specifications, attending technical reviews and consulting on unit testing.  During development cycle watches for Conformance to specifications and Usability (from the end-user's standpoint) of the modification or enhancementParticipates in internal integration testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials and products.  Continues to watch for Conformance to specifications and Usability of the enhancement or modificationPlans, promotes, and organizes internal training activities related to new product modifications or enhancements. Develops and maintains file specifications on databases used for software products. Develops and maintains user documentation for all ASAP Automation developed software products. Assist operations as needed in evaluating problem reports to determine if report is a software problem, operational issue, training issue or hardware problem. Keeps informed on new developments, methods, and techniques in the material handling, software development and documentation fields. Work with project manager as Software Change Requests (SCR's) are submitted.  Determine if there is a way to accomplish the request within the system without making a program change.  Evaluate requirement, change may be re-defined to provide better functionality. Develop estimates for software changes as requested by customers.  Submit estimates to sales group for quoting. Consult with sales group as needed on quotations.

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree Strong computer skills including: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and databases Previous experience dealing directly with customers and developers Strong analytical skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in working with WMS and/or Supply Chain applications is preferred Enjoys working in the software development and automation technology field (very computer literate) Willing to travel 15-20% of time Outstanding demonstrated performance in preceding career path Strong sense of customer service Team player Happy, positive, energetic attitude Ambition and desire to succeed
