Informatics Systems Report Writer

Summary:

The Informatics Systems Report Writer will be responsible for creating, modifying, and managing a portfolio of reports from standardized requirements specification documentation.

 

The ideal candidate will have data modeling and data analysis experience, and has a demonstrated ability to communicate with a diverse user community to gather requirements, create technical documentation from said requirements, and write code based on the documented requirements to develop reports.  In this position the candidate will be expected to interface with business owners to understand requirements and suggest solutions, troubleshoot problems, and support business reporting needs.

 

Epidemiological / healthcare industry background is a bonus but not required.  A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.  Salary is commensurate with experience.

 

Responsibilities:

  understand and participate in the report development life cycle, including: work with users to gather specifications for data and reporting requirements effectively translate end user reporting requirements into technical design documents work from technical design documentation to develop code for reports document and execute test cases to validate reporting requirement functionality support business reporting needs including troubleshooting issues with existing reports or create ad-hoc queries communicate reporting changes, both verbally and through written documentation, to management and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing report procedures and develop strategies for enhancing of further leveraging these processes

 

Requirements:

Software Knowledge: SQL, Crystal Reports, Cognos, Oracle Reporting, JSP, Oracle 10g

 

Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
