Informatica Support Analyst
SAIC currently has an opening for an Informatica Support Analyst. POSITION DESCRIPTION: This is a technical role responsible for the support and development of Data extraction, transformation, and loading of the data warehouses. Candidate should be experienced with data warehousing concepts. Preferred candidate will have strong data flow design and analytical skills. Strong understanding of Informatica 8.5.1 (or above) components (Power Center, Power Analyzer) is required – the system runs on an AIX server with an Oracle database.The selected candidate will be the primary Support person onshore and is expected to have strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate is expected to provide guidance to others in the team; and thought leadership in the BI/ETL space, including research and recommendation of Best Practices.The candidate is expected to have a minimum of 3-5 years of working experience with Informatica; preferably more in the BI/ETL space. Informatica – Workflow Development/Front-end Support Candidate should have a programming background with a sound knowledge of the Informatica PowerCenterRT Designer and Workflow Manager. Candidate should be familiar with data warehousing concepts. - Preferred candidate will have strong data flow design, analytical and trouble-shooting skills. - Knowledge of the PowerConnect for SAP-R3, SAP-BW and WebMethods and an understanding of data warehousing is a plus. - Minimum of 2 year of experience working with Informatica applications. Ability to operate in a team environment and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Duties and Responsibilities will include:• Administrator / Backend Support - Candidate should have a systems background with a sound knowledge of Informatica PowerCenter components. Candidate should be familiar with the administration of objects using PowerCenterRT Designer and Workflow Manager and migration of code between the development, test and production environments. • Administrator / Frontend Support - Candidate should have a programming background with a sound knowledge of the Informatica PowerCenterRT Designer and Workflow Manager. Candidate should be familiar with data warehousing concepts. • The individual will do hands-on with the Informatica products, and work with other teams and individuals to complete an assignment or task. • The individual is expected to provide technical knowledge in the above areas and manage Client relationships within the context of the individual and team role. • Duties will include the management of an issue or request from initiation through its resolution – including documentation – in a timely fashion within a team environment. • Primary focus will be on Production Support and E&M (Enhancements & Maintenance) work within the BI area. • Work on specific BI projects, as assigned. • Understanding of the SLA relevant requirements and working to achieve them. • Ensure that Client and SAIC procedures and guidelines are followed, including full compliance with Change Management and SOX/Regulatory requirements. • Use the Remedy ticket tracking tool to manage work activities and to maintain work progress information. • Work effectively with Client through the development and issue resolution cycle. • Integrate and work with the Onshore and Offshore SAIC Teams, and with third parties as required. Assist other team members as may be requested. • Handle other duties as may be assigned.REQUIRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:• Proven technical and functional knowledge in the Informatica area, with emphasis on Informatica 8.5.1 or higher. • Additional skills and experience required include: Oracle 9i, PL/SQL for data analysis, PowerConnect for SAP R/3, Unix for shell scripting. • Strong troubleshooting skills. • Strong Development and Debugging skills. • Ability to understand requests & work with Customers on requirements and take changes thru the whole Development cycle. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent verbal and written English language communications skills. • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with technical and management levels. • Ability to operate in a team environment; be a good team player. • Ability to be adaptable and flexible while responding to deadlines on assignments and workflow fluctuations; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. • Excellent problem diagnosis, analytical, and communication skills. • College Degree (preferably in Information Technology); candidates with relevant and equivalent experience will be considered. DESIRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:• Informatica Certification will be a plus. • Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with other ETL and BI Products like SAP-BW, Microstrategy, Data Quality (IDE/IDQ). • Preference will be given to candidates with exposure to Hyperion (using Essbase Connector) and WebMethods. • Experience working with global teams desired Company: SAIC Location: Houston, TX 77056 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: IT/Software Development Company: SAIC Reference Code: 123724
