Job Summary

· The Industry Strategy Director will be responsible for developing, communicating, influencing and overseeing the growth strategy for Lawson within a specific vertical (Public Sector).

· This role will work closely with sales, services and the products groups within Lawson, the industry strategy director plays a dual role:  identify, prioritize and oversee execution of opportunities for growth within a specific vertical– new markets, new segments, new product opportunities, packaging of solutions, partners, etc.; and 2) evangelize Lawson’s current solutions and offerings within the same vertical.

· Interacts with other groups within Lawson including executive management and key functional areas. Significant time is spent with prospects, customers, analysts and influencers for the purpose of building Lawson’s brand recognition, communicating Lawson’s strategy, supporting aggressive revenue growth goals and assessing market and operational opportunities. 

· You will build, present and execute annual industry business plans (with P&L projections). Identify key trends and monitor industry dynamics to determine how Lawson can capitalize on new market opportunities.

· Create and present Lawson’s industry vision/direction both internally to key functional areas (sales, services, R&D, etc.) and externally during sales opportunities to key executive decision makers and influencers. Be Lawson’s “voice of the market/industry” to articulate and relate how Lawson solutions create value within an industry.  Actively participate in industry conferences, publications, etc., to create awareness for the Lawson brand and solutions. External audience includes industry analysts, new and potential customers, and industry thought leaders and influencers. Provide industry knowledge to support sales with Lawson’s competitive differentiation within a specific vertical. Create and update content for the vertical section on Lawson’s Intranet site.

 

Requirements

· 10 years experience selling, marketing, or building high tech products or 10 years in end-user organization

· College degree in Marketing, Business Management, or related field; or equivalent experience

· Demonstrated ability to lead a collaborative team of people and a program of work within budget

· Proven organizational, leadership and decision making skills

· Strong entrepreneurial, and/or can-do attitude

· Ability to interact and influence effectively at with senior executives and board of directors

· Strong writing, verbal and presentation skills

· Strong influencing and negotiation skills
