In this position, you will work as a SAS Software Solutions Engineer on the SAS Risk Management Solutions. Primarily, you will provide technical support for trouble-shooting multi-faceted issues within customer or SAS Consultant environments across the globe for solution specific issues that have been escalated by SAS Technical Support. In addition, you will be responsible for building environments for the solution to support testing, training, development and demonstrations of the solution. This includes configuration, validation and documenting the installation, and acquiring profound knowledge of the solution installation in order to support installers during upgrades or trouble-shooting production problems. The SAS Risk Management Solutions are critical solutions that enable customers to both assess financial stability as well as meet regulatory financial reporting requirements.
Qualifications
Essential
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, software engineering, or a related field;
* 5 years of software development/programming or related work experience;
* Experience with Software Testing Procedures and Documentation;
* Experience with Application Server administration (IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.1 and above, WebLogic or JBoss);
* Experience with the SAS programming language, including familiarity with the SAS macro facility;
* Experience with various levels of Windows and UNIX (Linux, Solaris, AIX);
* Experience writing Technical Documentation;
* Experience working in customer technical environments.
Equivalent Essential
* Associate's degree plus an additional 2 years of the stated essential qualifications ~OR~
* High School diploma (GED) plus an additional 4 years of the stated essential qualification
Additional
* Excellent organizational skills;
* Good verbal and written communication skills;
* Ability to relate technical issues and impact in terms business executives can understand;
* Expert problem-solving, analytical and trouble-shooting skills;
* Ability to work independently and with a team.
* Ability to work flexible work hours to include other time zones.
Preferences
* Experience in the banking or insurance industries;
* Experience doing production support;
* Experience with the SAS programming language;
* Experience with IBM WebSphere MQ 6.x and above;
* Experience with DB2 9.5 and above or Oracle on Unix/Linux;
* Experience with SAS Business Intelligence Server.
