IT jobs USA: Senior Developer/Analyst I
The Administrative Information Services department of Princeton University's Office of Information Technology (OIT) seeks a Senior Developer/Analyst I to join its Custom Applications group (CAD). The Senior Developer/Analyst I is responsible for team based support of distributed application development, delivery, implementation and support.
This position develops high quality services and applications after analyzing needs and gathering requirements. Duties also include testing, maintenance and customer support, working under the direct supervision of senior staff and the Manager of Custom Application Development (CAD).
Specific responsibilities include the following:
* Participates in the planning of both the technical and functional sides of CAD projects.
* Creates, modifies and supports applications to meet customer requirements using technology standards adopted and endorsed by CAD.
* Participates as a contributing member in the technical standards setting process.
* Works closely with other OIT staff to research, evaluate, and recommend solutions to various wide-ranging information technology issues.
* Works on special projects as assigned by the manager of CAD.
Essential Qualifications * 1-3 years experience as a developer/analyst.
* Experience in the deployment, upgrade, enhancement, and support of small-scale web applications.
* Demonstrated knowledge in the following technical areas: Java EE, Java, EJB, JSP, Servlet, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, XML.
* Demonstrated knowledge of Java EE certified application servers such as WebLogic and/or GlassFish.
* Familiarity with RDBMS technology (Oracle preferred), including the ability to read/write SQL.
* Very strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written) skills, and the ability to work effectively in teams.
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
* The ability to work with business analysts in specification development.
* The ability to multi-task between and among projects and applications.
* The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse user base having varied levels of technical proficiencies.
* When provided access to personal, proprietary and/or otherwise confidential data, maintains such data in the strictest confidence and follows procedures to ensure the privacy, security and proper use of data.
Preferred Qualifications * Strong user interface skills, including experience with JSF.
* Previous experience working as a developer on a full lifecycle project.
