IT USA jobs: Junior Java Developer
As we continue to build our exciting Insurance Practice in Connecticut, CGI is seeking to add a Junior Java Developer to our fast-paced team of application development professionals. Ideal candidates will have 1-2 years professional work in a fast-paced environment. While this is a junior level role, there is strong potential for advancement contingent on employee performance.
Qualified applicants will have 1 to 2 years of Java - Java/J2ee application coding/debugging experience. Required experience would be reviewing logs/traces and assisting with error and exception analysis. Using IDEs (Integration Development Environments) like WSAD, Eclipse, RAD, WID for Java development and troubleshooting.
Additional desired experience would include working in UNIX/ LINUX/SOLARIS environment with some scripting skills to automate daily tasks.
Exceptional candidates would also have experience with or exposure to: IBM MQ - Familiarity with MQ tools and able to use MQ explorer and/or Websphere Application Server experience.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS DESIRED
Detail-oriented, energetic individual who can take on new knowledge, document it, and become proficient at investigation of production faults and defects, executing procedures and processes to remediate data problems, and interface with more senior members of the production support and development teams to develop manual workarounds where necessary, design permanent fixes/solutions, and proposed other changes that enhance performance/throughput, functionality, and integrity.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: Java, Eclipse
DESIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS: IBM MQ Series, IBM Websphere Application Server (WPS, WID)
