JOB DESCRIPTION

 

The Technical Architect is a hands-on position that will lead the project implementations from a technology perspective. The position requires direct interaction with our clients. The TA will work with the Technical Project Manager to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery for our clients. The TA will provide training and technical guidance to the implementation teams, and ensure that the implementations follow best practice configuration principles. The TA will work with clients to advise them on key architectural decisions regarding the platform and the supporting technologies.

 

The TA position will require domestic and/or international travel to client sites (40% -60%+).

 

Location: Northern NJ is preferred, but not required. Relocation assistance to NJ is available. If employee works remotely, periodic visits to the NJ headquaters will be required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

 

Proven track record (7-10 years) for implementing enterprise applications. Financial services experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Technology experience in the following areas is preferred –

 Workflow Designing business objects for re-use across multiple productsAbility to reduce problems to the lowest common denominatorAbility to design enterprise wide, large scale implementationsApplication Servers Deploying Servlets in high-availability, clustered environmentFamiliarity with WebSphere, Tomcat, and WeblogicAbility to enhance performance of application servers through JVM optimizationInstallation and support of Java Servlets distributed as .war and .ear filesSecurityFamiliarity with using LDAP as a means of securing application server resourcesAbility to take security into consideration when designing enterprise wide applicationsMessaging Integration with messaging platforms using JMS (primarily MQSeries)Design and implementation of message bus architectureDatabaseFamiliarity with database modeling tools such as ErwinPerformance tuning (Oracle, DB2, MSSQL)JavaScriptSkilled Java or JavaScript programmer with ability to identify and correct performance issuesNetwork performanceFamiliarity with network design and routingAbility to work with Network Engineers to identify performance related networking issuesOperating system tuningFamiliarity with operating system tuning parametersFamiliarity with at least 3 of the following: AIX, Windows 2003, AS/400, Solaris and LinuxShell scriptsXML document design XSD schemasProper XML document design
