IT Support Technician

DTS is looking for a IT Support Technician to join the IT Team and perform the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of personal computer and related systems. The Support Technician will troubleshoot software and hardware failures, and identifies network problems as they relate to end-user computers. Work on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgement in resolving issues or in making recommendations. Communicate highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel. May conduct training programs designed to educate the Company's computer users about basic and specialized applications.

 Essential Duties:Monitor and respond to end-user helpdesk requests.  Attempt to resolve issues, and logs steps taken throughout the troubleshooting process. Ensure all tickets are processed in a timely and accurate manner. Communicates status directly to end-users, and escalates issues to other IT team members as needed Support a diverse group of end-users in eight different countries via remote support tools, telephone, and in person Support Windows XP Pro and Macintosh OS-X based desktop and laptop systems Assist in Active Directory administration Support Blackberry mobile devices Creation of knowledge-base documentation for end-users, as well as internal IT staff Create and maintains images for rapid deployment of systems using tools such as Symantec Ghost Perform other duties as required



Qualifications:

Expert Knowledge in the following: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Macintosh OS-X Core Microsoft Office 2003 products (Outlook, Word, and Excel) Symantec Ghost Printer setup and support Basic understanding of networking (TCP/IP) Understanding of file permissions and access control Basic to Advanced Knowledge in the following: SMTP, POP SMS Wireless products and technologies Mobile user client / firewall and VPN device configuration and support Thorough understanding of a network infrastructure including, but not limited to the role of cabling, switches and routers Anti-Spam / Anti-Virus Technologies



Optional Knowledge in the following (considered a plus):Exchange Server 2003 Windows 2003 R2 Server Windows Vista / Office 2007 Oracle 11i end-user support Linux experience VoIP experience PGP
