Detailed Description Job Overview:The successful candidate will be working in the Retail Systems Group of E*TRADE Financial. The Retail Systems group is responsible for the entire customer functionality in E*TRADE including trading and order management, portfolio management, cash transfer, active trader products etc. E*TRADE Financial offers a state of the art robust diversified financial services platform which includes trading, portfolio management to retail and individual wealth management accounts. E*TRADE also has a significant market presence in the retail as well as the institutional business in all the major financial centers across the world.Candidate must have Excellent C/ C++ / Scripting / Database skills, and able to lead an active group of developers in a fun and fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills will allow the applicant to work directly with customers as well as providing technical and procedural guidance to the project team.Primary Responsibilities:Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining large scale software projects. Work with technical project managers and internal customers to help clarify project requirements. Produce detailed design specifications from project requirements. Produce detailed development schedules. Design robust solutions that accommodate changing business direction and rapid business growth. Code projects from design specifications.  Provide technical guidance to a team of developers. Track and report development progress and problems.   Job Requirements Qualifications:5+ years of software development experience in a full life cycle environment, 2+ years of lead/supervisory experience. Expert level Services development skills. Required Skills:Experience with Sybase or Oracle, UNIX or LINUX, Pro*C or Embedded SQL, C and C++. Working knowledge of source code control systems and configuration management practices. Working knowledge of design and implementation Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Preferred Skills:Experience with XML, XSD/DTD, Tuxedo, Scripting Language like PERL. Experience with Java and J2EE. Experience to Complex Brokerage or Financial Systems. Experience with Batch Framework software like Control + M. Working knowledge of object-oriented analysis and development methodology. Experience with performance testing and tuning distributed applications. Experience with design and implementation of scalable distributed systems.
