HelpDesk Specialist

Service Desk Specialist Monday - Friday 11:00am - 8:00pm This position is temporary- it's for 6 months with possibility of a full time hire. You must have helpdesk experience- tier one is a must. Here are some of the duties and job requirements of the position: DUTIES Perform Tier 1 (phone and remote desktop) support for campus and field based Roche Diagnostics employees Ensure each reported problem is resolved in a timely manner, tracked according to standards and escalated/re-assigned as appropriate Work independently and as a team member within established policies and procedures. Communicate problem resolution and additional information to Service Desk manager and support teams. Communicate problems in a non-technical manner, to customers with varying levels of expertise. Monitor and resolve assigned issues received through the call-tracking system. JOB REQUIREMENTS Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft operating systems to include XP and 2000 Excellent customer service and organizational skills An aptitude for providing positive customer service Responds promptly to customer needs Displays courtesy and sensitivity Manages difficult or emotional customer situations Direct experience within a PC Helpdesk Good communication, problem solving, and technical writing skills An in-depth knowledge of relevant operating systems, applications, printers and other hardware is preferred. Strong analytical, problem solving and PC skills Trouble shooting knowledge of PC hardware/operating systems. Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
