Our DIRECT CLIENT has an immediate opening for a Manager of Business Analysis.
The Manager is responsible for oversight and management of the Business Requirements development process. In addition to participation as an active working member of the Business Analysts Team, the position requires management responsibility for 5- 10 Business Analysts. This position is responsible for coordinating with Product Managers to assure that market driven business needs are properly defined, document and communicated to development. Additionally the Manager must assure through user acceptance testing in coordination or on behalf of customers that the developed product is consistent with the defined requirements. The candidate must be able to work both externally and internally to gather, define and communicate requirements. 10- 20% travel may be required. Ensures correct business functionality, requirements, and industry standards are addressed within the computer applications.
The successful candidate will have both the functional knowledge of the Health Payer arena and IT knowledge necessary for ensuring the successful implementation of system applications and data warehouse and business intelligence solutions. The candidate must have excellent communication skills with peers, supervisors, and customers and be able to work with various departments.
Depending on specific project assignments role may include:
* Performing tasks in support of a systems development lifecycle including, requirements definition, functional specifications, use case scenarios, test plans, documentation, training, and implementation.
* Making presentations on business practices, industry standards, and functional design working with the development team as part of the solution design and change management processes.
* Facilitating, motivating, and coordinating activities of user, and vendor personnel assigned to a specific project.
* Working with client and market advocates (such as product management and account management) to determine system/business objectives and solutions.
* Training new users on the system and assisting with change management for new releases; developing test plans; testing new applications and maintenance releases.
* Working directly with end users in utilizing the internal client developed systems.
* Establishing, reviewing, and validating action and decisions relative to system design and programming.
* Gaining an in-depth understanding of customer data for purposes of modeling, mapping and integrating data into a data warehouse.
* Working with customers to evaluate and ensure the overall integrity of data and reporting results in meeting business needs and use requirements.
* Providing timely response to technical and business related questions/issues and providing consultative advice on use of data in meeting customer objectives.
* Coordinating the delivery of developed product and solution capabilities across stakeholders
* Business Administration or Computer related Bachelors Degree is preferred
* Five+ years of Health Payer Business Administration and Healthcare IT experience
* Experience management skills including the ability to performance assessment and quality improvement
* Hands on experience in the payer and other healthcare operations a definite plus
* Well-developed analytical skill set and problem solving skills
* Experience with standard query languages, analytic and reporting tools
* Strong data and data warehousing orientation
* Data modeling experience a plus
* Experienced in Healthcare industry business practices and Payer Operations
* Understanding of Healthcare Payer claims and other administrative data, HIPAA standard transaction and code set standards, industry code classifications such as ICD9, CPT, National Drug Codes, etc.
* Strong data analysis and medical informatics skills
* Strong technical orientation (highly computer literate)
* Use case and requirements definition experience
* Good interpersonal skills and customer presence
* Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
* Strong facilitation and presentation skills
* Strong customer focus
* Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
* Ability to effectively multi-task his/her time to handle multiple jobs and tasks in process at the same time
