GIS TECHNICIAN

GIS TECHNICIAN - BENTEK Energy, located in Evergreen is searching for a full-time GIS technician to assist with map development for standard and custom reports.  Ideal candidate communicates effectively with non-GIS users using non-technical terms and can multi-task in a fast paced environment.  As part of the map-GIS team, there is significant opportunity to learn new skills and procedures.  Private sector map development experience desired. 

 Required skills, with 1-3 years of experience:

·         MapInfo preferred; ESRI or ArcGIS acceptable

·         Photoshop and Illustrator or other raster and vector editing software

·         General GIS knowledge

·         Microsoft Office 2003 or later

 

Other Desired Skills:

·         Georeferencing

·         Heads up digitizing

·         Maintain and track creation of GIS data

·         Backend database development

 

Education:  BS in Computer Science, GIS or equivalent experience.
