Format Engineer-Information Systems

Responsibilities:

 

Work as a team player on the format team in the Information Systems department mapping medical data.  Responsibilities include new format setup, working with current claim formats (electronic, paper, and secondary), patient statement formats, and special forms as well as quality control.  Responsibilities will also include working with Operations, Client service, and Clients on processes in the production department and standards for clients as related to formatting.  Must maintain formats to ensure updates are made as needed, communicate with payers, and work with EDI daily.  Claim formats include, Government, Commercial Carriers, Secondary, Medigap carriers, etc.   Excellent communication skills are a must. 

 

Qualifications:

 Minimum of 5 years of experience within the medical industryPrior experience with the GE  Groupcast practice management system preferredExperience with 835/837 formats preferred Experience with NSF and ANSI 12 formats preferredExperience with Scripting is a plusExcellent communication and interpersonal skills is requiredExperience using Cognos tools (Impromptu, PowerPlay) is a plusAbility to review information for accuracy and be detail-oriented is requiredCollege Degree or Equivalent
