At WMS you will be a part of an organization that prides itself in bringing the latest technologies to the casino industry through the creation of innovative gaming experiences. In this position you will work within our online game studio to help create an internationally targeted online solution. The Principal Software Engineer is a senior technology team member responsible for helping to architect and implement the online game system. This positon will additionally be tasked with converting WMS' most successful land based games to the online space. This position should demonstrate a high degree of initiative and is accountable for the timely completion and thorough implementation of all tasks assigned to them. Job FunctionsÂ· Develop designs and architectures for assigned tasks based specifications and requirementsÂ· Deliver quality work with clear, well-documented code as scheduled in accordance with technical design and product requirementsÂ· Work with Online Gaming team to design and implement interfaces and librariesÂ· Design and develop tools, utilities and framework componentsÂ· Provide technical expertise and advise to engineersÂ· Work with Lead Software Engineer to evaluate features, schedule and resource trade-offs and make informed, long-term recommendationsÂ· Provide training and mentoring of other team membersÂ· Lead initiatives for improvements for software implementation plans and game development strategies Qualifications / Required Skills Â· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalentÂ· 10+ years work experienceÂ· 5+ years C++ work experience Â· 5+ years development experience with web technologies Â· 2+ years Microsoft Visual Studio experience Â· 2+ years Flash experience Â· 1+ years ActionScript experience requiredÂ· Experience with development tools including debuggers, bug tracking and source control systems Â· Software design and architecture experience required Preferred:Â· ActionScript 3.0 experienceÂ· Flex experience Â· AJAX experience Â· .NET experience Â· Game development experience Â· User interface implementation experience Â· Familiarity with graphics engine: Open GL, Direct X or other APIs
