We are committed to delivering industry-leading technology for advanced simulation applications As we continue to develop this suite of applications, we have the need to add an experienced Development Engineer at our Providence, Rhode Island, headquarters with a particular focus on Abaqus/Explicit product suite.  Abaqus/Explicit provides nonlinear transient dynamic finite element solution techniques (FEM) to simulate a wide variety of dynamic and quasi-static events in an accurate, robust, and efficient manner.  This is a challenging position for engineers interested in applying their mechanics and numerical knowledge to solve real world problems while working with the most advanced simulation products.   You will be responsible for · Developing specific components for Abaqus/Explicit in a variety of areas including but no limited to: element technology, advanced material modeling, performance and parallelization, contact and constraint enforcement, coupled Eulerian-Lagrangian analysis, co-simulation with other Simulia products and third-party software;· Project management and requirements gathering;· Bug fixing, and;· Interaction with customers and field office support personnel. The successful candidate will be highly-motivated with the ability to work well with others in a team environment and will have effective communication skills. A qualified candidate should have 5 or more years development experience in finite element applications. Proficiency with FORTRAN, C, C++ programming is required. Knowledge of Abaqus/Explicit or similar commercial analysis codes is a plus. A PhD is preferred, but an MS degree with an exceptional track record will also be considered.
