Engineering Program Manager

Description:Lead and manage cross functional product team. Act as a change catalyst to incrementally improve Data Protection & Retention Group (DPRG) engineering and business practices. Provide a focal point for the extended team to act as a single team, and to resolve issues or problems.1. Responsible for one or more cross-functional product teams:- Provide leadership the for team- Ensure each member of the team has an opportunity to voice his/her information- Identify and drive creative solution to cross-functional challenges- Provide status and issue rollup for the monthly pteam review for DPRG to all levels of management inside and outside the organization- Ensure the team stays focused on the right areas, keep the team driving towards the appropriate priorities and deliverables- Escalate issues/problems to DPRG management as appropriate- Dig into areas of concern for root cause analysis- Act as a project management mentor and/or subject matter expert ntor first line managers in best practices for software development - Chair weekly meetingsack status and action items, publish weekly minutesive issues to successful resolutionsure consistent meeting format and material covered:- All releases, and all deliverables for releases- Special requests- Key escalationspport, services requirements/deliverables- Manage the phase review process for each product team- Ensure timely completion of deliverables- Complete phase review checklist- Schedule and chair dry runs and phase reviews - Responsible for ONTAP and other release deliverables- Enter parts and change orders as needed- Represent the product team to the BU and/or Release Team as appropriate- Provide timely status, issue closure- Manage and track dependencies from/to this product team, review documentation to ensure dependencies are visible- Maintain the product team web page- Link minutes, status, documents, team responsibilities- Retire old material, create new material2. Incremental process improvement - Identify and drive incremental process improvement, within DPRG. Some possible activities are detailed below:- Create new templates or tracking mechanisms- Identify gaps in product team delivery or services, drive gap to closure with the team- Influence all levels of the organization - from individual contributors to senior managersEducation and Experience:- A minimum of 12 years of experience is required. - A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.
