Our dedicated customer service is focused on life science and committed to serving the needs of this community across the globe and around the clock.DescriptionThe ETL Architect is accountable for designing and developing programs for client systems and for providing technical guidance to other members of a team, as well as serving as backup for management. As advisory level, has very high level of technical and product knowledge and is able to operate unsupervised across multiple environments and platforms. May function as team leader or assume project management responsibilities in supervisor’s absence. Further accountable for providing system customization when needed and for working directly with analysts and programmers on application/technical problem identification and resolution. The position requires broad exposure to all aspects of applications programming including configuration, maintenance, design, implementation and documentation. The position encompasses all of the accountabilities of lower level programmer positions and may provide mentorship to, and/or supervise less experienced Programmers. The ETL Archtiect provides on-time and accurate, complex programming services for designated projects, and ensures a high level of quality control and quality assurancePerforms complex product design activities which may require extensive research and analysis:Performs, design, implementation and maintenance of complex, multiple product modules/sub-systems. Participates in product design meetings. Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions to the problems. Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits. May assist in performing on-site client work in moderately complex applications. In the absence of product architects, may serve as a product architect: Design and implementation in order to meet project objectives. Documentation of development work. Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues. Researches new technology or development tools to remain abreast of current technology. Required Skills1. Strong skills in Informatica (6.1 or later – 8.5 background preferred), Oracle 9i / 10g (SQL/PLSQL), Business Objects XIR2, Unix Shell Scripting.2. Strong skills in designing Data Mart and related concepts, BO universes.3. ETL Architect will be responsible for the design, development and tuning of Informatica Mappings & Workflows. Candidate should have advanced skills in Informatica Designer, Workflow Manager & Workflow Monitor.4. Highly proficient in SQL and PL/SQL programming and tools like Toad / SQL Navigator. The environment where the resource will be working is a highly complex, database intense environment and hence the resource should be very strong in Oracle including performance tuning related areas.5. Highly proficient in Unix shell scripting.6. Experience in migrating applications / mappings from Informatica 6.1 to Informatica 8.5. 7. Hands on experience with Business Objects XIR2. Should be able to use Business Objects Designer to design universes, create Webi reports, create SDK for report distribution, and to administer the BO environments.8. Excellent written and oral communication skills – Should be able to draft business requirements, technical design documentation, testing strategies and also be able to communicate fluently with internal management team as well as with external client / vendors.9. Knowledge of data warehouse and reporting concepts10. Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling11. Exposure to ETL architectural principles12. Ability to manage a heavy workload, achieve results while meeting project deadlines with minimal or no supervision.13. Experience in working with Pharmaceutical industry data warehouse, data mart and sales force applications is a plus.
