Job Title

Application Developer/Specialist

Salary Range

Job Summary

 

 

Provides Provides support to Whitman-Walker staff using eClinicalWorks (eCW) practice management and electronic health record application.  Assists users with trouble-shooting problems related to the application and provides recommendations on optimal use of the system.  Acts as a liaison between Whitman-Walker and the eCW and/or District of Columbia Primary Care Association (DCPCA) administrators as appropriate when problem-solving.  Works with the DCPCA in testing functionality of new versions before implementation and develops structure data functionality based on user/organizational requirements as necessary.  Generates ad-hoc reports using Crystal and Cognos reporting tools and eCW’s APL reporting tool. Collaborates with users in identifying and defining modifications and enhancements to the application.

 

Primary Essential Duties

   Assists with the management of eCW Administers user accounts (creates new accounts, assigns privileges, etc.) Administers provider accounts (manages eCW licensing process) Assists eCW users via telephone, email and in person Offers guidance and answers questions regarding the functionality of the system Troubleshoots user issues Acts as liaison with eCW Support and the DCPCA Creates tickets for errors, bugs, development requests, etc. Works with eCW Support to diagnose and troubleshoot logged tickets Works with the DCPCA in testing functionality of new versions Works with other application vendors as needed Creates ad-hoc reports Develops reports using APL and Crystal and Cognos reporting tools Develops structure data in applications as appropriate

 

Secondary Duties

   Trains WWC staff on eCW Trains new staff based on department and/or role Identifies and defines modifications and enhancements to the application

Experience, Skills, and Talents Required

  

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Well-honed organizational skills with good attention to detail

·         Ability to assess and solve problems via telephone and email

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

 

 

Education and Experience Required College degree

·         Minimum 3 years experience in a health care environment; community health center experience preferred.

·         Experience with an electronic medical record application; eCW EMR experience preferred.
