Director Programming Department
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Aristotle, Inc, a web site design and development company located in Little Rock, Arkansas, seeks a Programming Manager responsible for management and oversight of the Aristotle web site design and development programming department.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:1.   Manage Programming Teams and personnel, including hours worked, productivity, and team project status2.   Review time reports at the end of each day 3.   Approve leave requests, track absences with assistance of the HR department, and make team member changes, additions and/or substitutions as needed4.   Recommend timing for new programming hires, interview new programming hires, make salary recommendations5.   Conduct annual and semi-annual reviews of programming staff6.   Make recommendation for salary increase(s), promotions and/or terminations of programming staff 7.   Address conduct and/or performance concerns8.   Receive direct reports from Team Leaders9.   Report to upper management on programming team and project status10. Oversight of Project Management, including       a.    Assignment of Projects to the appropriate team      b.   Unscheduled Job Requests system      c.    Quality Assurance11. Recommend changes that will improve efficiency and morale 12. Reports:        a.    Weekly and monthly time reports for entire programming department        b.   Monthly efficiency reports        c.    Monthly project status reports13. Serve as point of contact for Production Management Staff, Team Leaders,and upper management.14. Assist with estimates for sales 15.   Attend client meetings as needed16.   Evaluate and recommend third-party software programs as needed17.   Recommend needed licenses for software programs18.   Serve as liaison for third-party and/or subcontract development teams19.   Set up and implement training programs for programmers on Aristotle systems and about job requirements.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Experience with Microsoft.NET Project management
Extensive knowledge of the following is required:
           Database programming and architecture
            Programming protocols
           General Programming Concepts
            Object Oriented Software Engineering
Knowledge of server technologies, C#, and Microsoft SQL Server preferred.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Â
BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, and 5+ years of technical experience 2 of which must be in project leadership and/or management .
