Director, Program Management

As the Director of Program Management in the On-Demand business unti, you will report to the Vice President of Application Engineering and Professional Services organization. You will be responsible for building a team of program management professionals and setting best practices for managing the design, development, deployment and sustaining of our custom and productized client solutions. PRACTICE ROLE
• Interface with our Sales, Client Solutions and Product Management groups to ensure that all work is accurately scoped according to our On-Demand Development Methodology.
• Liaise with other practices to assemble program steering teams and project delivery teams, as demanded by the workload in order to meet desired schedules.
• Take ownership of fostering good communication and strong relationships amongst team member from diverse organizations within Nuance and our customers.
• Ensure all projects are delivered as specified, on time and within budget, whilst maintaining stringent quality and performance standards.
• Track and communicate identified program risks, mitigation plans and milestone progress to all program stakeholders.
• Collaborate with our Network Operations group to plan, deploy and maintain applications at required uptime and automation targets.
• Enforce project accounting practices and take ownership of tracking and forecasting resources, revenue, work backlog and sales pipeline.

 

MANAGEMENT ROLE
• Recruit and lead a growing team of program managers responsible for client, product and process programs.
• Ensure that program management resources are optimally applied to cover programs according to set priorities.
• Serve as escalation point for program managers for unresolved risks and issues.
• Promote teamwork and collaboration within and outside group.
• Develop, document and maintain the On-Demand Program Methodology to promote best practices to suit our unique environment.
• Manage group and individual performance by setting goals and tracking achievements.
• Ensure that resources are trained and equipped to meet their challenges.
• Articulate and promote the value of group within and outside Nuance. • 15+ years of program management experience in delivering enterprise-level software.
• Line management experience and strong leadership qualities a must.
• Solid understanding of formal software development methodologies required.
• Must be capable of effective remote communication and operation with geographically distributed teams and customers.
• Must be decisive, pay attention to detail, take ownership, follow through and collaborate on multiple levels across functional groups.
• Solid understanding of revenue recognition models, P/L management and cost-to-completion projections.
• Experience in deploying call center technologies, such as IVR, ASR, TTS and CTI, would be an advantage, especially if it involved Nuance network-based speech technologies.
• Technical graduate degree or MBA.
• PMP certification preferred.
