Director, Product Management Strategy
About People Capital
Â
People Capital, Inc. was founded in 2008 by a team of world-class talent with backgrounds in student loans, consumer finance, credit ratings and new media to develop the next generation of credit risk management and funding for student financing. www.people2capital.com
Â
We are targeting the $60 billion student loan and credit card markets which are perfect for the peer-to-peer (p2p) & micro lending model. Like eBay, we will provide a complete platform, but for micro lending. We will act as an originator and will provide tools to lenders allowing for portfolio analysis, credit risk analysis and debt collection. We will create a secondary market to enhance liquidity and will include institutional lenders in the bidding process so that the marketplace will be a category killer for the industry.
Â
Our p2p lending platform brings innovative financing solutions for students to finance their college educations by marrying together traditional FICO scores, guarantors and co-signers with cutting-edge information-based strategies from the credit card industry. At the same time, our patent-pending human capital score can underwrite students without credit history by being able to project individual income levels and ability to pay indebtedness. We incorporate merit data such as GPAs, SAT scores, internships, college and major to providing a true and unbiased, data-driven measure of economic value of an education.
We have raised seed capital from Josh Mailman, philanthropist and founder of the Social Venture Network, and a Wharton run hedge fund investing in student loan companies. We will complete our first major round funding in the next month and have an immediate opportunity to expand our team with a seasoned product manager.
