The Opportunity: The Director Product Management will oversee all products in the AutoCAD and Platform Products Business Unit, Autodesk's largest division. In addition to the flagship product AutoCAD, this role will manage a new SaaS offering. SaaS is one of the fastest growing segments of the software industry and Autodesk is one of the largest software companies to offer it. Offering software products based on a SaaS model is a new growth opportunity for the company, and will expand the customer base from what has been traditionally the architecture and engineering community into the realm of a new type of userthe prosumer. This role will report to the Vice President AutoCAD and Platform Products, and will be based at either headquarters in San Rafael or in the San Francisco office. Role and Responsibilities: Lead the product management team to work with customers, industry sources and internal stakeholders to identify market and technology opportunities, and define product requirements to address these market opportunities Lead the definition of market requirement documents (MRDs), opportunity proposals, user case studies, customer profiles and business cases Manages the delivery of MRDs to the development team and communicate the product specifications. Helps set priorities of the development organization Provides ongoing guidance to the product design team in the development of product specifications that deliver the required user experience Analyze options (buy, build and partner) for the solutions to optimize time-to-market and to most effectively solve an identified market problem. Work with Business Development to identify market opportunity within the target market segments Identify partnership and alliances opportunities and proactively work to develop the relationships with required market leaders Will have responsibility for worldwide subscription customer messaging including creative, content, localization and Geo customization Define and drive the go-to-market strategy with the product marketing team, providing product positioning for all target customers, markets and buyers. Develop a list of specific problems that the product will solve for the market, and specific product requirements to address those problems as well as enable the development of effective marketing collateral, PR, advertising and marketing programs Drive the branding and the development of marketing collateral for the SaaS-based solutions. Utilize creative approaches to drive the definition of business models, pricing strategies and product delivery options Candidate Qualifications and Professional Experience: 15+ years management experience in Product Marketing, Product Management or related roles in a global software or other high technology solutions company 3-5 years of experience in successfully bringing a SaaS product to market Experience in a variety of product delivery mechanisms and business models, including packaged software products and web-based products Solid understanding of various market segments, including engineering, consumer, and high-volume Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to influence and build consensus within and outside of the organization, along with a high degree of self-direction. Must lead the vision for product strategy Extensive experience in working cross-functionally with Engineering and Product Design groups Managed a team of Product Managers, of at least 15 members Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field; an advanced degree is a plus The Benefits: This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Product Management leader to head up a solid team that will be responsible for growing an entirely new customer base for the company.
