Background:

Projector PSA is a company that develops a leading Professional Services Automation (PSA) suite that helps services firms efficiently manage their operations. Projector supports those firms by helping them track time and expenses, invoice their clients, schedule their resources, and manage their projects. Our software is delivered on a subscription/Software as a Service (SaaS) basis. As such, the product, which is a complex, internet-enabled, transactional application, is hosted on a multi-tenant architecture capable of supporting thousands of concurrent users.

 

Responsibilities:

We have been successful delivering a large and complex feature set with a very small team because the team is experienced, tightly-knit, and talented. We are looking to expand our development capabilities by hiring a key mid- to senior-level developer capable of owning entire vertical slices of the application (e.g., data, business, and presentation tiers of the invoicing module). This person would be responsible for architecting, designing, implementing, supporting, and enhancing those modules throughout the entire product lifecycle. Because we are a small, entrepreneurial organization, this person would also have the opportunity to contribute in other areas as needs and interests dictate.

 

Technologies and Skills:

Our application is built on Microsoft .NET technologies and a multi-tiered architecture that allows for integration with other systems through web services. We provide users with both a browser-based thin client for zero footprint access as well as a self-managing installed thick client for faster performance. As such, our ideal candidate will be well versed in or capable of learning the following technologies and skills (in descending order of importance):

  Web 2.0, AJAX, .NET ASPX Windows forms, C# ANSI SQL, T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server), data modeling XML, XSLT Web services, SOAP, WSDL 

In addition, our ideal candidate must:

  Possess excellent problem solving, logical thinking, and math skills Be able to work independently with little direction yet integrate well into a larger team Be able to learn new technologies and new concepts quickly Be comfortable interfacing with product management, business analysis, QA, and production support teams and directly with end users Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be able to accurately estimate effort and deliver to deadlines Practice disciplined software development practices Understand the software development lifecycle Be passionate about his or her work

 Finally, experience with the following types of systems, industries, and environments are a plus:

  Experience in the professional services industry, especially delivering systems integration projects Experience with data-intensive transactional or financial systems, especially medium- to enterprise-level systems Experience supporting systems in production environments

Qualifications:

  BS or MS in computer science, engineering, or math 3-5 years experience in software development
