My client, a leading software publisher is seeking a database developer.  Ideal candidates will have experience on AIX platforms with DB2 as the back end.  This is a fast paced environment, offering substantial challenges, and gratification to individual contributions.  This position requires a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in a relevant science field.Qualifications:  Bachelors degree in Business or Computer Science  Familiarity with application release processes and the DBAs role in that process.  Proficiency with IBMs DB2 UDB product line (currently version 8.2) on an IBM AIX platform.  Ability to define and manage a release schedule and to plan the release procedures as they relate to the database portion of an application release.  Experience with defining rollback plans that would bring the database back to its previous stable condition (previous version, in most instances).  Working knowledge of industry standard design patterns  Experience working in a Unified Change Management environment Since 1946, Spherion has been helping talented individuals find rewarding job opportunities that drive excellence in their career.
