Database Administrator

Parature is seeking a candidate to work with our database design and hosting teams to help ensure performance and availability of our online, SaaS-model, customer support software. Our systems are 24x7, high-availability, and high transaction rate. Join our challenging, friendly, focused environment where every day presents an opportunity to learn.Job Responsibilities:• Assist database designers and architects to optimize the structure and configuration of production databases• Troubleshoot performance issues• Create and monitor backup schedules, and periodically test restores.• Ensure test databases identically represent production databases• Administer and audit security of DBMS systems• Help evaluate and select tools• Enhancement and maintenance of configuration and change control processes for production databasesRequired Skills/Experience: • Experience with large-scale production environments and the processes necessary to maintain them• 2-3 years direct experience with large volume, high availability systems• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005• Highly organized and rigorous with documentation• Experience w/ T-SQL, SQL and ad-hoc queries• Familiar with at least one scripting or programming language• Solid troubleshooting skills• Knowledge of DB maintenance, and correct production change control processes• Must work well independently and in a highly collaborative team environment• Flexibility to work occasional weekends and late nights based on client demand and production support requirements• Excellent written and verbal communicationPreferred Experience: • Dreams in SQL• Experience with replication• Experience with Business Objects• Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical degreeTo apply please visit: http://www.parature.com/careers_positions.aspxAbout Parature:Parature is the leader in on-demand customer-service software.
