Data Conversion Developer The developer will analyze, design, program and test data conversion tools and applications. The developer works closely with Business Analysts and Architects to create data conversion solutions that execute the client’s specific conversion strategy. Using strong logic, programming language syntax and sequencing skills, combined with practical knowledge, the developer produces data conversion tools and applications which provide comprehensive business solutions to the healthcare payer industry. Candidate must be familiar with standard coding concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience, creativity and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision from the assigned Data Conversion Deployment Manager and Solution Architect/ Tech Lead. Must have exceptional programming skills and be willing to code full time. Candidate will take responsibility for implementing finished products based on algorithms developed. Must have a thorough knowledge of Object Oriented Programming principles, and should know how to use common design patterns. Responsibilities include: • Participating in all aspects of the data conversion development process including functional design, data mapping, coding, testing, and deployment. • Maintaining documentation on data conversion transformation methodology, applications, and tools. • Designing database tables, stored procedures, and functions for MS SQL Server, Oracle and Sybase DB platforms (T-SQL / PL/SQL programming). • Supporting data conversion systems and resolving related issues promptly. • Manage data loads, refreshes, migrations, scripts, stored procedures, and batch job execution. • Travel up to 100% depending on client/project specific expectations. Required Skills: • 3 years experience working with software / relational database development. • Prior experience coding and designing with Object Oriented Programming techniques; MS SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase; SQL and stored procedures; coding with JavaScript, VB Script, Perl, xml. • Bachelor degree in computer science or relevant technical experience. • Should be self-directed and a strong team player. • Ability to handle multiple tasks at once, and meet deadlines. • Excellent communication and customer service skills. • Experience in Healthcare or Health Insurance Payer industry. • Knowledge of Facets applications and data model preferred. • Experience working with Visual Studio and coding with .net technologies a plus.
