Galileo Processing is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA)/Linux System Administrator to join our team in providing 24x7 support for Oracle databases and Linux systems.

 

Responsibilities include:

* Installing and implementation of database and linux operating systems

* Performance analysis

* Troubleshooting and daily support

* SQL tuning analysis

* Support and administration of SAN disk

* System design

* Support and mentoring of both development and administrative staffs

* Quality assurance and user acceptance environment support and setup

* Business continuance

 

Qualifications:

* Bachelors degree in computer science or similar field

* 3+ years database administration using Oracle in a production environment, 10g preferred

* 3+ years Red Hat Linux system administration experience

* Solid troubleshooting and problem solving skills

* Ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment

* Good communication skills

* Unix/Linux shell scripting

* Ability to work on-call and after hours

* Ability to lift 50 pounds

 

Preferred experience:

* Oracle Real Application Clusters

* EMC Symmetrix Administration

* PL/SQL Programming skills

* Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager/Grid Control

* Data Design experience
